We are having a Wild Weekend for Wales!
Funded by Welsh Government, CCW and Homebase, the aim of the weekend-long campaign was to encourage groups to create new wildlife habitats to improve local biodiversity by undertaking small practical projects to benefit native species. To find out more about the work of Keep Wales Tidy visit: http://www.keepwalestidy.org/ Volunteers, staff and children from G2G Communities CIC and the Oaktree Child Care Centre will be rolling up their sleeves to give local wildlife a helping hand in by building a range of bird/bat boxes and bee/butterfly habitats and feeders. Having been successful in their application G2G Communities CIC was given £200 worth of Homebase voucher which they used to buy wood and other resources to build the habitats and feeders. G2G Communities CIC is working in partnership with Denbighshire Countryside Services to record the new developments at Rhyl Cut due to start on the 4 February 2013. Learners and staff at G2G Communities CIC have already taken photographs of the proposed development in December 2012 and will follow the project through to completion. The photographs and videos will be used to produce a multimedia record/case study of how the project progressed from beginning to end.
Out of 280 applications over 190 applicants from across Wales were successful in applying for free Homebase vouchers as part of Keep Wales Tidy’s ‘Have a Wild Weekend for Wales’ campaign. One of the lucky applicants was G2G Communities CIC in partnership with the Oaktree Child Care Centre, Rhyl.
G2G Communities CIC is pleased to announce that it has now added to its comprehensive partnerships and become a UK online centre.
