G2G COMMUNITIES CIC DELIVER ADVICE AND GUIDANCE TRAINING

Recently G2G Communities CIC delivered two half day training sessions for staff and volunteers of South West Rhyl Communities First and Access to Advocacy. The topics covered were to:

• understand the basic principles of advice and guidance;
• understand the different roles of an advisor;
• recognise the skills, competences and qualities needed to be an advisor;
• understand the importance of accurately completing the relevant forms and associated paperwork and
• use a computer to identify different support agencies and individuals.

G2G Communities CIC produced a PDF document for the StepUp bus so that advisors could identify local agencies in Denbighshire and Conwy for referral. The feedback was very positive so we have decided to make this available on our Web site.

The course is designed to enable participants to:

• Adopt an integrated approach to the theory and practice of teaching;
• Critically evaluate previous and current levels of experience and identify areas for development;
• Identify principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation;
• Develop confidence, communication and inter-personal skills and
• Develop an awareness of their professional role and responsibilities.

This qualification is appropriate for all new entrants to teaching, training or learner support, in the lifelong learning sector, or for those who are required to achieve a recognised teaching status as defined in the New Overarching Professional Standards for Teachers, Tutors and Trainers in the Lifelong Learning Sector. This qualification will be taken by all teachers/ trainers, in a full, Part-time or associated role/s.
